Who are we?
Blurbanist is a group of Washington, DC-based urban planners, architects, landscape architects and urbanists, involved in a dialouge about how we, as designers, can constantly be evolving our cities and our projects.
We've been around the world and wonder: how can negative urban interventions be improved, and how can we 'steal' the best ideas of what's successful to enact positive change in our own places?
We've been around the world and wonder: how can negative urban interventions be improved, and how can we 'steal' the best ideas of what's successful to enact positive change in our own places?
In 2010, our group began hosting a weekly brown-bag session, with each member presenting rotating thoughts from their travels, lectures they had attended or recent work from their own desks. The presentations were great, but the resulting dialouge was better.
Blurbanist aims to capture this dialouge, bringing this discussion to larger audience and asking: how do we create better places when the lines of global and local are increasingly blurred?
